Martial Arts for Teens

Let Duer's ATA Martial Arts Help You Equip Your Teen For Success In The Real World.

It seems like in is getting tougher on Teens. Here at Duer’s ATA Martial Arts, it is our goal to create a safe and encouraging learning environment, where Teems can learn self-defense, discipline, and confidence without being embarrassed for their mistakes. This sense of identity will boost their confidence, resulting in increased assertiveness when dealing with the high-pressure situations they’re faced with every day.

Our classes are an excellent way for teens to get involved with their peers that share similar goals and skill levels. By expanding their network with positive influences, they’ll be able to maintain accountability and increase their social skills.

We are your Parenting Partner.

The Teen years are a critical time in a child’s personal development. It is important for them to learn the boundaries for their behavior and actions so they can develop the habits they need to become good adult. Martial arts teaches teens this kind of self-discipline through the tradition and etiquette of the practice.

Teens will feel a sense of belonging as they learn within an environment that is encouraging and non-judgemental. They will build their confidence through positive reinforcement by their instructors, as they continue to challenge themselves and achieve new goals.

Parenting a teen is hard enough and you should not have to face it alone!

DO NOT LET YOUR CHILD BECOME A STATISTIC.

Equip them with the tools to succeed in the real world with ATA Martial Arts.

Since 1969, over one million students have trained in one of the 950 ATA Licensed schools. Our students regularly go on to join Ivy schools and become community leaders. The values they learn during their martial arts journey are the same you teach at home and last a lifetime.

IT IS OUR MISSION TO HELP YOU RAISE A CONFIDENT, FOCUSED LEADER WITH THE LIFE-TRANSFORMING EXPERIENCE THAT IS MARTIAL ARTS.

LIFE-LONG FITNESS

Martial arts is an excellent form of exercise. The discipline students learn in their martial arts class will help them stick with their practice as a way to maintain fitness for the rest of their lives.

DEVELOP SOCIAL SKILLS

For many teens, controlling their emotions in social situations is a challenge. Martial arts helps teens improve their self-control by teaching control of the body. This is a vital skill that teens can carry with them into their adult life, helping them to manipulate their thoughts and emotions more effectively.

A STRONG SENSE OF RESPECT

A key component of the martial arts tradition is respect. Students will be taught to respect their instructor, their classmates, and themselves. This sense of respect promotes dignity and well-being among those who practice.

BUILD CONFIDENCE

In martial arts classes, all students are treated equally. They will engage with a wide range of opponents, giving them a sense of accomplishment as they find success in a variety of situations.

DEVELOPING MORE THAN JUST WINNING ATHLETES

We Teach Life Skills that your child will learn and be with them for the rest of their lives. A great foundation makes a great person. We teach what you teach at home.

Discipline

is to obey what is right. It means to practice good habits. And what are good habits? Simply put, they are behaviors that make us better human beings. Discipline begins with obedience. When we are children we must obey our parents, teachers and mentors, since they are the ones who are responsible to show us the right path.

Belief

is having the “YES I CAN” attitude always and no matter what. It is the ability to see the invisible and look beyond the obvious. Belief is our inner power used with our core values towards the fulfillment of our goals. Absolutely everything we do in our lives, in fact, is based on our beliefs. Every action we take, every decision we make, and every single thing we do stems from what we believe. If we believe this, we do that; if we believe something else, we do something different.

Communication

is how we relate to ourselves and everything around us. It is so important that the success of a society depends on how well it communicates. The word communication comes from the word “common”, which means “equal”. This means that in order to communicate with each other, we must find common ground. To ensure this, our communication must be seen, heard and felt.

Respect

ourselves means doing things that are good for us. For example, like taking care of our bodies both mentally and physically, educating ourselves and finding mentors to help us improve our lives. Self-respect also means thinking positively, making the right choices, and caring for our possessions and our personal appearance. When we show self-respect, others learn that they must also treat us with respect.

Self-Esteem

is the joy of being who we are. It describes how we see and value ourselves. When we feel good about ourselves – independent of the circumstances that surround us – we show self-esteem. We can build our self-esteem by making a choice to see everything in our lives positively. This way, in time, we develop a positive attitude towards life.

Honesty

is the first step to a rewarding life. To be honest is to obey our conscience. It means to have the courage to confront the consequences of our actions no matter what price we may have to pay. It is to take responsibility for our actions and to be accountable.
